Sarah Kianovsky is curator of the collection for the Division of Modern and Contemporary Art, which comprises art dating from 1901 to the present day from around the world. Her responsibilities include collections research, coordination of permanent collections installations, and creative collaborations with faculty from a wide variety of disciplines. Her research interests range from cubist painting to 20th-century sculpture, to World War II–era provenance. She has published extensively on the work of David Smith and lectures frequently on museum ethics and acquisitions policy.
